I am new to tikiwiki and have some questions that might seem kind of stupid, but I have not been able to figure these things out. I am trying to create a database of best practice documents, templates, and forms for my co-workers and I to use. I have a lot of documents that I would like to upload to my tikiwiki page so that we can search for and view them as needed. I have been able to upload files by attaching them with the attachment button at the bottom and through the my files section. I have done this as both an admin and a user. However, when I go to look at the documents it opens them up in word, which makes sense because they are attachments. How or where can I upload them on the site so that this will not happen? I also want to be able to make abstracts for the documents and set keywords that they can be searched by. I have put some of the documents in as articles and done what I want with some degree of success, but, I would rather be able to do this by just uploading files instead of copying and pasting the documents. I want to create a database where my co-workers and I can easily search for, retrieve, and add documents that we can use for reference.

So, my main questions are:
1) Where and how can I upload documents so that they can be viewed as part of my tikiwiki site?
2) How can I then add an abstract for people to see before they bring up the full document, and how to set keywords for search?
3) I also want my users to be able to post documents that the other admins and I can then approve and modify as needed. How can I do this?

These are the big questions I have right now. Please let me know if you need any more detail on what I am trying to do. Like I said I am new to this and could use all the help I can get. Thank you very much

Please use the forums at tikiwiki.org (http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-forums.php) for questions about using TikiWiki. This forum (doc.tw.o) is just for questions/comments on the documentation itself. Thanks.

I tried to post there but I kept on getting an error message. I have tried for the past two days with no success. That is why I tried to post here. Do you know why this is happening?

Hi, I could recently post on tikiwiki forums as user "xavi" (plain registered user). See it as example on http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=28505&forumId=16

Could you please tell us the exact forum where you see the problems, and exactly that the error saying, please?

I have had the problem on two forums. Both the Documentation and the features/usability forum. I tried again and got the same message. It is an internal server error message. It looks like this:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

It must some conflict with some words or sentences in your message and some security modules in the webserver or host. Try adding phrase by phrase (Editting your own post each time), to find out where is the problem (wich words - sentence, etc. might be understood as am intruder attempt to the mysql server, etc.). I would say that that's the reason (it happened to me long ago with specific posts)
