This pages is intended to explain terms used in Tiki. Especially terms which have different meanings in other open source Web applications.

category
To regroup various object types (ex.: 1 forum, 4 wiki pages, 1 blog) . It is possible to assign a theme and/or permissions to categories.

cms
The articles & submission section was originally called "CMS". So there are a few places in the User Interface and in the source code where cms is still used. Ex.: tiki-admin.php?page=cms or in the permission listing.

content template
A page template created using wiki syntax that can be used to pre-populate a wiki page or article.

module
boxes on right & left side that perform various functions. Examples: Shoutbox, Last Articles, Last Changes

mods
feature not bundled in standard Tiki (can be a sections, modules, plugins, etc ). Please see: http://mods.tikiwiki.org

navigation
the act of moving through the different sections of a tikiwiki. Done by pointing, clicking, or pressing keys.

plugin
a way to help format, integrate or re-use content in a text area PluginPluginManager

section
a feature such as forums, wiki, blog, etc

structures
To make a book from wiki pages (with table of content)
