General Settings tab

Overview

Use this tab to configure the general settings for most textarea and text entry fields.

To Access

From the General Admin page, click the General Preferences tab.

Setting	Description	Default
Features
Use File Galleries to store pictures	If enabled, all images uploaded for wiki pages are stored in the File Gallery. If disabled, images are stored in the ../img/wiki_up/ directory.	Enabled
Dynamic Content System	Enable the Dynamic Content system.
Search and replace	If enabled, Tiki can use its native search-and-replace feature while editing wiki pages.	Enabled
Wiki syntax
Smileys	Users can add smileys (emoticons) to their edits.	Enabled
Wiki paragraph formatting	If enabled, use a blank line to signify paragraph breaks.	Enabled

Parse wiki syntax in comments in all sections apart from Forums
Use "Accept wiki syntax" for forums in admin forums page
Automonospaced text	Lines indented with spaces will automatically be converted to monospace font.

HTML Purifier	Note: If you are trying to use HTML in your pages and it gets stripped out, you should make sure your HTML is valid or de-activate this feature.	Enabled
AutoLinks	Website or email addresses that you type in are translated into a clickable hyperlink.	Enabled
Hotwords	Enables the Hotwords feature.
Open Hotwords in new window
Use Quote plugin rather than ">" for quoting
Use three colons instead of two to center text. Avoids conflict with C++ resolution scope operator.
Default size
Wiki: rows		20
Default number of rows for comment box: rows		6
Forum: rows		20
Forum reply: rows		10
External links and images

External link icon	External links will be identifed with the icon: . You can change this icon by using a different graphic in: ../img/icons/external_link.gif.	Enabled
Add "rel=nofollow" on external links		Enabled
Open external links in new window	Specify if links to external sites should open in a new browser window. (html: target=_blank) If not selected, all links will reuse the current browser window.	Enabled

Features
Anonymous editors must enter anti-bot code (CAPTCHA).	If the Anonymous group has edit permission, anonymous (non-logged in users) will be requried to enter a CAPTCHA when editing.
Protect email against spam.	Tiki will automatically hide email address links (by using Javascript) to protect against spambots.
Smileys	Users can add smileys to their edits.
External link icon	External links will be identifed with the icon: . You can change this icon by using a different graphic in: ../img/icons/external_link.gif.
Open external links in new window.	External links (created with the [www.foo.com] syntax) will open in a new browser window.
Use File Galleries to store pictures .
Dynamic Content System	Enables the Dynamic Content feature.
Allow to post comments as Anonymous
